Weeding Speech Ideas

Your wedding reception will likely involve at least a few wedding speeches, no matter how you plan it. These are generally a part of every wedding reception and are there to observe the happy couple.  It is traditional for speeches to be given at a reception following a wedding so think about who you want to hear from and in what order well in advance.

The grandness of the wedding speeches changes but they are anticipated to offer up thanks, short humorous tales, or heartfelt toasts to the bride and bridegroom. If you do opt to have the best man talk, which is traditional, he should be the first and toast both the bride and bridegroom and all the wedding attendees.

The bride’s father usually makes a speech also, and since we currently have extended families, the bride’s father and stepfather might have something to say as well. In case the grooms father or mother expresses desire to speak they should speak about their son and why marrying his wife will improve him as a person. A maid or matron of honor speech can incorporate things like for instance, how well she knows the groom, a funny or humorous tale about the pair and general thanks to the bridal group.

While the mother of a bride or groom might not often speak at a wedding reception, they can be called upon to deliver some touching thoughts which will have some guests in tears. Keep in mind that your wedding speech should be brief as there are others who will follow you. The happy couple or their wedding planner should make a list of people that are giving speeches, put them in order with their names and role in the wedding so everyone knows what is going on.
